Cherne supported construction and mechanical operations on this project to re-purpose an oil refinery complex into one of the world’s largest renewable fuels plants, producing 800 million gallons per year of renewable diesel, renewable gasoline and sustainable aviation fuel.
Construction scope included a 21-million standard cubic-feet-per-day gray hydrogen steam methane reforming unit and a 10,000 barrel-per-day ARA pre-treatment dual train unit for a 15,000 barrel-per-day renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel facility. Major areas of work included the outside battery limits tank farm, renewable diesel unit, hydrogen unit and pre-treatment unit.
